484 Micro-mesh lightweight boots ‘TEAM’
These Gehmann boots does not comply with the new ISSF rules from January 2026
Effective January 1, 2026, the ISSF has banned high-ankle rifle boots to eliminate excessive structural support, requiring all rifle shooters to wear low-cut, “pistol-style” shoes that leave the ankle exposed. Existing rifle boots can be modified by cutting away the ankle portion. Soles must remain flexible, and new, stricter equipment seals will be mandatory.
Key 2026 Shooting Boot Rules:
- Ankle Coverage Ban: High-top boots covering the ankle are strictly prohibited in all rifle positions (prone, standing, kneeling).
- Pistol-Style Requirement: Shoes must be low-cut, similar to those used by pistol shooters, allowing free movement of the ankle.
- Modification of Old Boots: To avoid replacing expensive gear, existing rifle boots can be permanently modified by cutting down the ankle support to expose the ankle.
- Sole Flexibility: The 2026 rules maintain the existing requirement for sole flexibility (must bend at least 22.5 degrees under 15 Newton-meters of force) to prevent unnatural, rigid, or “penguin-walk” stances.
- New Seals: All equipment, including shoes, will require new official ISSF seals starting in 2026.
These changes, effective for the 2026 season, aim to reduce technical doping, lower costs, and enhance the natural athletic performance in rifle events
